Recognition of AMIETE Examination by UPSC

(Extract of the Press Note regarding the recognition of Technical and Professional qualification for the admission to the IAS etc and other examinations conducted by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment to non-technical services and posts under the Central Government)
Vide letter No.F.17-2-76 EI(B) dated 31st December 1977 the Union Public Service Commission has decided that professional and technical qualification such as pass in Section A & B of the A.M.I.E.T.E, Graduate ship Examination of the Institutions of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers etc which are recognized by the Government as equivalent to degree in Engineering for purpose of recruitment to Superior Services/Posts under the Central Government should also be recognized for purposes of admission to competitive examinations conducted by them for recruitment to non technical services/posts (Viz. IAS etc, Assistant's Grade and Combined Defence Services Examinations) for admission to which a degree of recognized university or equivalent has been prescribed as the basic qualifications.

We thankfully acknowledge your Letter No. IETE/38/93 dated April 19,1993 addressed to our Secretary General.
We are happy to know that IETE the country's premier professional body devoted to progress in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering have conducted three examination of "C" Level (M.Tech.Level) in Computer Science, which carries th accreditation of the Ministry of Human Resources Development Govt. of India and is accepted by national level gate. As IETE Examinations are recognized by Govt.of India, we do not foresee any difficulty in acceptance of the Institution qualifications at Indian Universities, on merits for purpose of admission to higher courses.
We should be glad to write to any university in case of any difficulty to IETE Graduates.

Sir,
kindly refer to this Department's letter of even number dated 16.11.2004 on the subject noted above.
On the recommendation of theAICTE, the High Level Committee of this Ministry in its meeting held on 17.09.2004 approved the revised syllabus for implementation. The approval for implementing the revised syllabus is subject to all other conditions of recognitions mentioned in our earlier leter, remaining same. A copy of the approved revised syllabus for Associate Membership Examination(Section A &B), duly authenticated is forwarded herewith. The earlier letter dated 16.11.2004 in this regard, may please be treated as withdrawn. |

The Institution is thus helping thousands of younger members of community working in engineering to obtain engineering qualification & also to advance their technical knowledge & enhance their engineering career but, who have been unfortunate in securing admission in regular Polytechnics and Engineering Colleges due to no fault of their through non formal system of education. |
